here's a quick tour through my garden.
these were taken within the last week - however- we had so much sunshine that i feel like i should be putting up more recent pictures!
my only lettuce that has survived.
i never had problem growing lettuce before.
and to be honest.. i'm a bit scared to eat these because last i checked there were quite a few spiders who had made this their home.
first time growing beets - forgot to thin them.
but super excited that they are actually growing!
my wonderful, handsome and strong hubby (ha!) helped pull out all of the crazy weeds that we had growing on the side of the house.
i'm too chicken because this is where all the spiders love to live in our yard.
in the far back right we have beets, zucchini and sunflowers (can't see them)
in the middle - rowans' sweet pea flowers
in the front right - my broccoli, tomatoes and cauliflower (can't see them either)
on the left - my one lettuce plant and my asparagus that i have now cut down from letting them go to seed.
i checked today - there are some new asparagus stalks making their way through now.
more tomato plants - a few onions in the front - barely growing
BROCCOLI!!!!
sooooo super excited that these are growing.
according to a blog i follow - she had already harvested her broccoli awhile back and i was beginning to think that i wouldn't have any broccoli this season.
this is my first time planting it, so i had no idea what to look for.
well one day i decided i was just going to rip up all my plants because they were taking up valuable garden space!! but then i decided to look and dig under the leaves in the middle and VOILA!! i saw this tiny bud trying to make its way through. so i decided to give it more time.
boy am i glad i did that! every single broccoli plant now has a veggie growing on it. YAHOO! and i have one that is doing absolutely amazing.
its even bigger today that it is in this picture.
oh my tomatoes!! when i took this i had only found 3 tomatoes on all of my plants combined.
now there are too many to sit and count.
happy happy!
this is my carrots - broccoli- sugar snap peas in the back - and my one tomato plant in the right corner
{poor quality photo due to iphone}
chives and carrots!
i'm so happy with my garden this year.
the peas are almost done and i'll be ripping those out soon and planting something in their place.. not sure what yet though.
