Teacher Gifts

Wednesday was rowan's preschool graduation, so Monday was her last day of school!
so I got on pinterest, as usual, and found these cute little buggers that I had pinned awhile back.

they were easy.
terra cotta + paint +somewhat steady hand = success

chalkboard paint
with a note that read: thank you for helping me grow.
rowan tried to write it, but it was too difficult.
shoot it was almost too difficult for me!

the teachers loved them! :)

DIY Chalkboard for Announcements

I whipped up this little chalkboard a couple of weeks ago.
I meant to take pictures as I was making it, but forgot.

i found a plain cheap wood frame thing at michael's
i had some wood stain already, so i just used it on all of it.
painted the flat part with chalkboard paint
i got strings of pearls for a buck at michaels
the little doilies i found for $1.50 at michaels.
hot glued the pearls on a strand and the doilies onto it.

next up... will be using in our adoption announcement pics!

DIY Circus Party Supplies

This past week I got some party supplies done for little miss' carnival/circus party!

I got some ideas/inspiration from pinterest! love it.

these are .99 frames from ikea with scrapbook paper
i'm going to put labels in them such as "hot dogs" or "cotton candy"

these are pieces of cardboard cut and painted red.
hand painted the letters.
and glue with glitter!

these bags were my sister's idea and we made them together with kraft paper
cut, tape and used some fancy scissors.
washi tape and a little baker's twine.
these will be used for the plastic silverware for cake and ice cream.

These are white lunchbags that I punched with the marth stewart edger.
these will be used for whole peanuts at the party!

only a little over a month left to finish planning this party.
lots to do!

Homemade for the Holidays!

I've been busy making things for the holidays. One of my favorite things to do!

Here I made caramels.... soooo delicious! I followed this recipe, but added sea salt into the mix and then added it to the top after laying it out in the pan. I couldn't get Bubba away from them!

Vanilla extract that I started 6 months ago.

These are simmer potpourri bags. I used my dehydrator and dried up some oranges, apples and lemons. I then added cinnamon sticks, allspice, nutmeg and some cloves.

These are just salt dough ornaments. Rowan had a great time helping make these! We used cookie cutters and put them in the oven at a low temp and then dried them for a day. Painted, stamped and tied off with bakers twine!

Voila!

I also planted some paperwhites about a month ago, into some vases from Dollar Tree with some rocks and moss and will be combining all of the above together in a basket for the neighbors!
